IN THE NUDE

Ballet is something I've always longed to be good at. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.

Little, chubby me, aged 3 and bald was squashed into a small pink leotard with matching pink ballet shoes. My mum looked at me with all the love in the world.
My peers, even aged 3, turned their perfectly groomed heads away in horror.
Little blond angels dancing away, pointing their toes, listening intently to the teacher.

In I went. Actually in I was pushed.
And then 30 seconds later out I came, kicking and screaming and carried by my horrendously embarrassed mother.

And there it was. The beginning, middle and end of my career.

If only I had Christian Louboutin on my side and his beautiful new ballet shoes.
Soft buttery leather in seven different shades.

Who knows. Maybe that was the problem mum.
I wasn't wearing my Louboutins.

SEEKING LIGHT

Returning to London on a train packed full of irritable/tired/smelly people...away from the sea...away from this...the end of a bank holiday weekend has never felt so grim.

How can four days pass by so quickly?!

I spent my weekend on the South Coast of Devon in a little place called Bigbury, about which I have definitely waxed lyrical before.
It's beautiful and tiny and like nowhere else I've ever been.
Going down there always involves family, food, occasional sun and a hell of a lot of walking.

I can't explain how much I adore this part of the world nor how breathtaking this view is.
So I'll let someone else tell you how this day felt.

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold; when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade."

MONDAY MOTIVATION #20

Two and a half weeks to go.
Two and a half weeks until I'm officially no longer a student...and so, therefore, officially... unemployed.

Now isn't that a thought for a cloudy Monday evening?

As my list of job applications grows and I continue to frantically check my email every 5 minutes, I'm seeking comfort in books. Not self-helpy, you can do it stuff but stories, mystery, wild journeys.

And who better to turn to that the king of those three things, Jack Kerouac.

If you have never read anything by him, seriously, what are you doing? Order away. Anything, just soak up his words like I am, desperately, in the hope that some of them might stick.

For now I'm just sleeping with his books under my pillow.

No one can tell me I haven't tried.

"There was nowhere to go but everywhere so just keep on rolling under the stars."

DETOXED

When a new healthy eatery opens in London, it isn’t all that exciting anymore. A variation of vegan/raw/healthy/ridiculously overpriced place pops up every other week in the capital. And so it is a sign of true and impressive dedication that sees The Detox Kitchen opening its second, much larger, cafe in the heart of the West End.

DUSTY WALKS

Fav girl, fav brand. Taking a wander along an empty road, kicking up dust in some bad ass biker boots, majestic desert mountains as the backdrop.

Equipment's latest campaign makes me want to run away to the wilderness, albeit clad in silk shirts, ripped jeans and cowboy boots.

I love the breezy effortlessness with which the photographer has captured Caroline. It looks like they were the easiest moments to shoot, the sunlight perfectly silhouetting her at points and then illuminating her at others.

Safe to say my next holiday begs to be more desert than beach but we'll see how long this English freezing weather holds out as I might just change my mind.

For now though I'll long for candy striped shirts and baby soft cotton tees.

Check out the video of the campaign here to see for yourself how amazing the girl, the clothes and the landscape go together. Oh and to catch a glimpse of the sweetest dog ever.

Seems a pretty perfect woman to showcase to celebrate International Women's Day.

SUNLIT SHADOWS

This photo is everything.

The sunlit simplicity of this girl's beauty is everything.

I feel like someone accidentally sat on the remote and pressed fast forward on my life. So manic, so out of control, so much school work/life work/finding a job work blah blah blah.

Always so many things and not enough hours in the day.

But this photo made me stop. And think.

So I'm sharing it with you so you can have that moment too.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Because the next job is right round the corner.
